The Great Workplace

BUILDING TRUST AND INSPIRING PERFORMANCE

In great workplaces, employees trust the people they work for, take pride in what they do, and enjoy the people they work with.

As companies seek to create and sustain a highly engaged and committed workforce, the most effective companies focus on their workplace as a key element of that strategy.

The Great Workplace: Building Trust and Inspiring Performance workshop is designed to provide managers a set of powerful, effective exercises that will help them understand the conceptual and practical considerations of creating a high trust work environment, and one that serves to create a foundation for a great workplace.

What is a great workplace?

A great place to work is one in which people TRUST THE PEOPLE THEY WORK FOR, HAVE PRIDE
IN WHAT THEY DO, AND ENJOY THE PEOPLE THEY WORK WITH. Three relationships (trust, pride, and camaraderie) are embedded in this definition, and they provide the basis for the model that is the focus of this workshop.

Workshop Format

The Great Workplace can be offered in both a full-day and half-day format.

  • The one-day design covers the foundations of a great workplace, lessons from the research, a manager self-assessment, and an in-depth exploration of best practices at the best companies.

  • The half-day design does not include the in-depth exploration of best practices.

The objectives for the workshop include:

  • Examine the essential elements of a Great Place to Work®, especially the crucial role of trust.

  • Build an understanding of the key role that managers play in building a great workplace.

  • Identify opportunities and generate ideas for ways managers can make change within their scope of responsibility.

  • Become familiar with tools that can be used to make a positive impact in improving the workplace.
